The Library Structure View in Smart Library presents your job architecture as connected cards in a hierarchical, org-chart-style layout. Instead of reading your structure from a table, you can see at a glance how job families, groups, subgroups, and titles relate to each other — and how many job titles sit within each level. It makes validating your library faster, and makes the architecture far easier to walk stakeholders through.

Before you start

The Library Structure View reflects the taxonomy structure in your job library. You’ll get the most out of it once your job families, groups, subgroups, and titles are set up — a library with little or no taxonomy defined will have little to display.

Open the Library Structure View

  1. Open Smart Library and select the library you want to explore.
  2. Switch to Library Structure View using the view selector.
  3. Your taxonomy appears as a set of connected cards arranged by hierarchy level.

Reading the view

Each card represents one level of your taxonomy, and the connecting lines show how levels relate to one another — running from job families at the top, through groups and subgroups, down to individual job titles.

Cards also show how many job titles sit beneath each taxonomy level, so you can see immediately where your architecture is dense and where it’s sparse. This is often the quickest way to spot levels that are over- or under-populated relative to the rest of your structure.
