Export Your Skill Clusters
Managing a large skill taxonomy one entry at a time is slow — and if you’ve ever needed to share your library with a stakeholder or review it outside the platform, you know the friction. You can now export your skill cluster library as a CSV file. Apply filters to narrow down exactly what you need, download it, and work with the data in Excel, Google Sheets, or any tool that accepts a spreadsheet.
- Open Smart Library and navigate to the Skill Clusters section.
- Apply any filters you need — language, taxonomy level, or specific skill clusters. The export will reflect exactly what’s shown on screen.
- Click the Export button.
- A CSV file will download automatically, containing your skill cluster hierarchy (taxonomy levels 1 and 2), skill cluster names, skill names, and proficiency levels. Open it in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet app.
Tips and best practices
- Filter before you export. A focused export is easier to work with than the full library. Use the language selector and taxonomy filters to narrow things down first.
- Check your language setting. The export reflects whichever language is currently selected, so make sure it’s set to the right one before downloading.
- Keep a dated copy. If you’re using the export for audits or stakeholder reviews, rename the file with the date so you can track changes over time.
Limitations
The export reflects the language you have selected at the time of download — if you need data in multiple languages, run a separate export for each. The export is also scoped to your active filters, so if you want the full library, make sure no filters are applied before exporting.
