Before you start

  • You need at least one job in your library – either uploaded or created directly in the platform. You don’t need a complete library to start; you can map any subset of jobs.
  • Jobs with clear, descriptive titles produce better mapping suggestions. If your titles are abbreviated or non-standard, consider adding brief clarifying text before running the mapping.

How to use it

Step 1: Prepare your job library

Make sure the jobs you want to map are active in the platform. You can either upload a file containing your job titles or maintain them directly in smartLibrary.

Step 2: Open Job Mapping and select jobs
  1. Navigate to Job Mapping in smartLibrary.
  2. Select the jobs you want to map to the standard library. You can select individual jobs or work in bulk.
Step 3: Run mapping and review suggestions
  1. Run the mapping. The system analyses each job title and suggests the closest match from the TalentNeuron standard library.
  2. Review each suggestion. For every job, you can:
    • Accept the suggested standard job, or
    • Change it to a different standard job from the library if the suggestion isn’t right.
  3. Confirm your mappings once you’re satisfied with the results.
Step 4: Load market data

Once mappings are confirmed, you can bulk-attach market data to your jobs. This connects each mapped job to the standard job’s reference data, and attaches the following in one step:

  • Standard job reference
  • Skills
  • Job description
  • Duties
  • Automation potential
  1. Select the mapped jobs you want to enrich.
  2. Trigger the Load Market Data action.
  3. The system attaches all available market data from the standard library to your jobs.
Step 5: Use your enriched jobs

Your mapped and enriched jobs are now ready for analysis and reporting. Skills, duties, descriptions, and automation potential are all populated and consistent with the TalentNeuron standard library.

Tips and best practices

  • Start with a subset if you’re unsure. You don’t need to map your entire library at once. Map a representative group first, review the quality of suggestions, and expand from there.
  • Use clear job titles. The better your job titles describe the role, the more accurate the mapping suggestions will be. If a title is vague or uses internal shorthand, adding a brief description can improve results.
  • Review before confirming. Always check suggestions before confirming mappings — especially for roles with similar titles across different functions.
  • Remap when roles change. If a role evolves significantly, remap the job. The market data will re-align to the new standard job automatically.
  • Refresh after configuration changes. If you update your data source configuration or entitlements, refresh the market data load to pick up the latest available data.
