Use smartLibrary as a database of skills and jobs organized into libraries. You can connect jobs and skills created and managed in smartLibrary in smartPeople and make it possible for your employees to add those jobs and skills to their profiles in smartPeople.
Our guide can help you go through the process of creating and further managing your own job and skill libraries as well as using existing HRForecast standardized libraries in smartLibrary. You can also find here tips and recommendations on how to make this process smooth and effective.
Skill library
For the skill collection, a standard library is available. It is the HRForecast library. The library is continuously updated and presents you with the most current and accurate data. We recommend using the HRForecast skill library as a huge collection of skills relevant in a wide variety of fields.
You can neither edit the HRForecast library nor export it.
Once you realize that you need skills that are specific to your company and are not available in the standard library, you can create and further use your own skill library. It helps you standardize a skill database by clearly communicating skill titles, classifying and grouping skills, as well as defining if a skill needs to be validated or not.

Job library
For the job collection, we recommend creating your own job library with a job architecture that is specific to your company.
To get step-by-step instructions on how to create your own job library, see Create a job library. We recommend you to follow good practice and have 4 taxonomies to categorize jobs in the library. To highlight true qualifications per each job, we also recommend to mainly add relevant skills and avoid defining general ones. Thus, you can list 20 skills per job.
With that, you may also be advised to use the HRForecast job library to connect jobs from your library to the ones from the standardized library. It allows you to get skill suggestions, external market data, etc.
To learn more about how to manage a job record in general and add connected jobs in particular, see Manage a job.
