Add locations
Adding preferred locations to your profile is an essential feature of smartPeople. Your location preferences help you to show nearby results, as well as show up your profile in search results, so you can get right opportunities matching your country, state, or city. In your location preferences, you can also indicate that you are open to work remotely.
To add a location, follow the steps listed below:
1. On the Profile page, switch to the Locations tab, and then click Start adding.
If you already have location preferences under My location preferences, to add a new location, click Add.
2. On the Add locations dialog that appears, start typing a location in the Search field, and then select the one you need from the list of suggestions. You can search for a city, a state, or a country.
In addition, you can specify a remote location. To remind you about adding the remote location, a notification appears in the Add locations dialog. To add the remote location at once without searching for it, click + Add remote. To close the notification, click Dismiss.
For the city of your choice, you can define a radius up to 100 km. To this end, click the city suggestion. Once it expands, click the radius you prefer. You can choose between 0 km, 25 km, 50 km, and 100 km.
3. Once you click a suggestion of your choice (state/country/remote/radius for city), it appears under Selected locations.
4. Click Add to add selected location to list of your location preferences in your profile.
Set your current location
To set a location as your current one, click a house icon within the location record. Once done, the My location label is displayed. You can change your current location any time if you have more than one location preference in the list.
Delete location preference
To delete a location from your profile, click a trash bin icon within the location record.
