Browse smartPeople to find events you might be interested in. To this end, use the Browse menu.

Search for an event

To search for an event, follow the steps listed below:

1. On the navigation menu, click Browse to open the Browse page.

2. On the Browse tab of the page, start typing an event title in the search box, and then select the one you need from the list of suggestions.

3. Once you are done, click Search to return the search results. You can see a list of posts returned based on the event title.

You can also click directly the suggestion of your choice.

Otherwise, just click Search without typing anything in the search box. As a result, you can see a list of all available posts returned.

If no results are returned for your search, you get tips to adjust your search.

4. Click a post record to open it, and thus, get event details.

If skills are defined for the event, you can add any skill from the list to your profile or as the one to develop. To this end, first, click the plus sign within that skill record, and then click the command of your choice: Add to profile or Add as skill to develop.

5. Click Share so you can copy the link to the event to share it with others. In the Share event dialog that appears, click Copy link, and then click Close.

6. Click Interested at the top right-hand corner of the page, so the post creator can see that you are interested in attending the event.

Once you click Interested, you are redirected to the Interested tab of the Browse page. The post creator receives a corresponding notification and may accept your request.

Once accepted, you get notified via email. The event post record is then moved to the Accepted tab of the Browse page. In addition, you can now view updates once they are posted to the event (you are also notified about event updates via email), as well as event attendees if the post is set up accordingly. Thus, the following tabs are displayed on the event page: Updates and Attendees.

Event recommendations

You can pick out an event among recommendations based on your skills. To this end, follow the steps listed below:

1. On the navigation menu, click Browse to open the Browse page.

2. On the Browse tab of the page, locate the Events section. You can see here a number of events matching your skills.

Once you get the results, you can finetune available filters until the desired event records are displayed. To this end, click Filter, and then use filters available in the Filter by pane. Filters are grouped by the following criteria:

  • Skill matching
  • Locations

If a number of recommendations per section is large, click Expand to view all event cards. Otherwise, you can move through the cards in the section using the left and right pointed arrows.

Every card shows you an event title, locations as well as when the event was posted.

To view the whole list of event recommendations on a separate page, click Show all.

3. To view event details, click the card. If you have navigated to the list of posts, click the event record in the list.

As a result, the Event details page opens. Here you can view information about the event, show your interest in the event, or share it.
