View Automation Potential for Your Team’s Roles
Team leads in smartPeople can now see automation potential data for their direct and indirect reports directly in the Team Management section. Rather than seeing only a team member’s role title and skills, you can now view a breakdown of their duties and how much of that work is automation-susceptible — giving you a clearer picture of where automation could free up capacity across your team.
Before you start
Automation potential visibility in Team Management must be enabled by an administrator via Features Access. If you don’t see this data in your team view, reach out to your admin to check whether it’s been turned on for your team.
View automation potential for a team member
- Open Team Management in smartPeople and navigate to the Talents section.
- Select a team member from your list of direct or indirect reports.
- Open their profile to view the duties associated with their current role and the corresponding automation potential data.
Enable or disable automation potential for your teams (admins)
- Open Features Access in the admin settings.
- Enable or disable the Automation potential option to control whether team leads can see this data in Team Management.
- Save your changes. The setting can be toggled on or off at any time.
Tips
- Use automation potential to prioritize conversations. A high automation potential score for a particular duty doesn’t automatically mean action is needed — but it’s a useful starting point for understanding where workload could be reduced or redirected.
- Indirect reports are included. The view covers both direct and indirect reports, so you can assess automation opportunity across your full team structure, not just your immediate layer.
Limitations
Automation potential data reflects the duties associated with each team member’s current role. The feature can be disabled by an administrator at the team level, so availability may vary across your organization.
